Was about to take out a bunch of rubbish and pressed the button for the lift. Nothing happens for a few minutes and I can hear people talking from the floor above where they must be holding up the lift. I press the button a few more times (which they must have heard because I could follow half their conversation). Still

no movement in the lift. After a few more minutes I get impatient and take the stairs instead, manage to press the lift button on each floor whilst juggling my bin bags. By the time I made it down and had thrown away all my rubbish I got the satisfaction of seeing the lift stop at the last 2 floors and someone walking out with a very annoyed look on her face. infinite_spinergy 7 min. ago I feel this! I live on the 7th floor, and sometimes when I arrive home the lift is called to the 10th floor and is held there. And it's always the 10th floor. So I just run up the stairs, while pressing the buttons on some random floors.

DodGamnBunofaSitch - 1 hr. ago and you have no way of knowing if the person who actually held up the lift was even on the elevator for more than 1 of those floors. this petty revenge lacked precision, and had too much potential for collateral damage (meaning it's probably mostly innocents who had to suffer.)

Sunlit Flowers OP. 1 hr. ago why hold up the lift while having a long conversation, if not one of the talking parties is about to use it they were at the top floor of the building, so the only likely option was that someone was going down after they finished babbling I'll take my chances with those facts, otherwise I'm sure karma will get me back

ShadeOX just now the elevator in my moms place starts beeping loudly when it's being held up too long. I wish all elevators had that.
